The Council is installing CCTV cameras outside Hillingdon Schools this summer to ensure people do not illegally stop or park on 'school keep clear' zones. This is to support improvements in road safety for children.
From the start of the new academic year in September, motorists who are recorded parking or stopping on the yellow zig-zag lines outside a school will receive a fine of £110 (£55 if paid within 14 days).
Yellow zig-zag road markings at the entrance of schools are an important road safety feature, demonstrating that the area must be kept clear to allow an unrestricted view for approaching motorists and for children waiting to cross the road.
